At Mossbourne Riverside Academy we love to celebrate the achievements of our hard-working children.
Each Friday we hold a special celebration assembly for the Early Years, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, led by our Principal, Mr Jackson.
Each week children are nominated to receive ‘PoW! Certificates’ (Pupil of the Week). Class teachers select 2 children from each class who have really impressed them throughout the week or for a stand out academic or pastoral achievements. The nominated children not only receive a certificate but also their next award badge! At Mossbourne Riverside Academy Mr X hands out Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum badges to celebrate successes!
If a class has 100% attendance, they are awarded with a delicious fruit and cream cake especially made by our Chef! As well as our ‘PoW!’ nominations, we reveal the weekly attendance figures for the school and each of the classes! Classes compete to see who can win a week with Parker the Parkside Pup (KS1) or the Attendance Trophy (KS2) by gaining the best attendance.
Individual children (and their families) are also recognised throughout the term and at the end of autumn, spring and summer and a special event is arranged for the children with perfect attendance!
Finally, we reveal each week which team has managed to take the lead in number of house points awarded! Each of our children belong to one of four houses and proudly wear a coloured house badge to show that they belong to: Nelson, Faith, Pinter or Wollstonecraft House (each named after famous Hackney people). Our House Point Monitors count up the number of house points that individual children have earned for their house each week and add it to the running termly tally. The winning house is awarded the house cup for that week which is collected by the House and Vice House Captains!
